Chicago Sees Multiple Accidents On September 17
Chicago saw a number of traffic accidents on September 17, with The Chicago Tribune reporting stories about a hit-and-run
, in addition to a three-car crash
. Police are looking for a female driver regarding the crash, and a man has been taken to a hospital because of the hit-and-run.
A taxi and a car smashed into a building as a result of a chain-reaction caused by a female driver who fled the scene. A 2006 Nissan SUV rear-ended a 2010 Prius taxi, and the taxi crashed into a store from the impact. The same Nissan also struck a parked Plymouth, causing it to hit a tree. After hitting the Plymouth, the Nissan swerved into the same building that the taxi crashed into.
Police are searching for a female with dark hair, who jumped out of the Nissan and took off on foot.
As if a three-car crash was not enough, a man was hit by a car in Little Village, and he was taken in critical condition to Mount Sinai Hospital. Details about the age and identity of the man are still unclear to the press. Police said the driver fled the scene after hitting the man, heading south on Christiana Avenue.
The call about the hit-and-run came in shortly after 2 p.m. on September 17, and Chicago Fire Department paramedics were the first to respond to the call.
